Description | : | Exposure of flies to phenylbutyrate (PBA) between 5-10 mM increases life span. Adult flies exposed to PBA from day 12 of adulthood onward demonstrate a comparable life span extension to those treated throughout life. PBA treated flies exhibit enhanced stress resistance (starvation and paraquat) and locomotor activity. Animals in this experiment were treated beginning on day 12 for the remainder of life. | ||||||
